I’ve always been believed in the power of the image. From my first photograph of my radiant grandmother standing in front of a blossoming lilac bush, to a portrait of Basque accordion player friend immersed in his music to the absolute joy written all over the faces of a newlywed couple walking down the aisle, photographs preserve stories and creates indelible memories of our most important moments.
I have an MFA in Photography from the Massachusetts College of Art and have been a working photographer for over three decades. I’ve photographed weddings everywhere from the shores of my hometown of Gloucester, to rustic farms in the Blue Ridge mountains, to grand chateaus in the Dordogne region of France. My documentary work has been exhibited and published internationally and I have been the recipient of numerous awards, including a Fulbright and Guggenheim Fellowship.
I love what I do and I am honored to photograph weddings, portraits and family gatherings. When photographing an event, I feel an awesome responsibility to create honest, timeless images that reflect the particular beauty, spirit and joy of that day.
When I’m not taking photos, I am teaching, running, camping and hiking in the mountains of my home state of Idaho, sharing meals with friends, and traveling with my amazing musician husband.
